Stephens Investment Management, llc (sim) is a San Francisco–based investment firm. SIM is the general partner of the Nanocap Fund and Orphan Fund. Bart and Brad Stephens are the co–founders and Managing Partners of Stephens Investment Management, LLC. Paul Stephens is Chairman and Partner.

Stephens Investment Management’s strategy is based on conducting fundamental Research on small and growing companies. The hedge fund focuses on microcap and smaller than microcap companies–what SIM calls Nanocaps. Nanocaps are companies with an enterprise value of less then $250 M. Due to their small size, the professional investment community usually neglects these companies.

We are long–term investors, with a focus on value–priced growth companies. In conducting our bottom-up research, we look for: improving fundamentals, turnaround situations, new management or products, insider buying and other changes in the business that could become an investment catalyst.
